In short

We collect what we need to verify professionals, take bookings, hold and release payment, and keep both sides safe. Identity and licence documents stay private. We never sell your information, and card and bank details are held by our payments provider, not by us.

1. Who we are

Beauty Dispatch is the controller of the personal information described here. We operate a marketplace connecting customers with independent beauty, health and fitness professionals in Washington, DC.

2. Information we collect

Account information: your name, email address, phone number, photo, city and state, and the role you use the platform in.

Professional application information: business name, licence or certification number and document, optional insurance certificate, EIN or tax ID, mailing address, service address, government ID (front and back) or passport page, portfolio photos, and biography.

Booking and payment information: the services you book or provide, appointment times, service addresses, prices, tips, platform fees, payout amounts, refunds, and the status of each booking. Card and bank details are collected and held by our payments provider — we store only limited references and status, never your full card or account number.

Content you create: messages, reviews and star ratings, private professional notes about customers, dispute descriptions and dispute messages, and signed agreement records.

Technical information: IP address, device and browser type, approximate location used for distance and travel estimates, and usage logs needed to run and secure the service.

3. Why we use it

To create and secure your account, verify professionals' identity and licensing, show relevant professionals near you, take and hold payment, release payouts, calculate the platform fee, provide receipts, run the resolution centre, prevent fraud and unsafe behaviour, enforce our terms, meet legal, tax and accounting obligations, and improve the service.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your documents or messages for advertising.

4. What other people can see

Customers see a professional's public profile: name, optional business name, biography, category, services and prices, ratings, reviews, portfolio photos, general area and, for professionals who host clients, their service address.

A professional sees the booking details needed to do the job, including your first name, contact details, the service address you provide and any note you add.

Identity documents, licence and insurance documents, EIN and mailing address are private. Only you and our review team can open them.

Private notes and ratings that professionals leave about customers are visible to other professionals on the platform for safety and reliability. Home-based professionals' addresses are never shown or made bookable.

5. Who we share it with

Our payments provider, for payment processing, identity checks and payouts. Our hosting, database, email and analytics providers, acting on our instructions. Law enforcement, regulators or other parties where we are legally required to, or where it is necessary to protect someone's safety or our legal rights. A buyer or successor if the business is sold or reorganised.

6. How long we keep it

Account, booking, payment and signed agreement records are kept while your account is open and afterwards for as long as needed to meet tax, accounting, fraud-prevention and legal obligations — normally seven years for financial records.

Identity and licence documents are kept for as long as the professional is active and for a limited period afterwards to evidence our verification checks, then deleted.

7. Your choices and rights

You can view and update your profile, download your booking receipts, and ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, for a correction, or for deletion of information we are not legally required to keep. You can close your account at any time.

Depending on where you live you may also have the right to object to certain processing, to restrict it, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your local data-protection authority. We do not discriminate against anyone for exercising these rights.

Requests can be made through the in-app messaging or resolution centre and are answered within 30 days.

8. Security, children and changes

Access to data is restricted by role, documents are stored privately, and connections are encrypted in transit. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password and tell us immediately if you suspect a problem.

The platform is not for anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

We may update this statement; the version date at the top changes when we do, and material changes are highlighted in the app.
